Manufactured as an officially licensed product by GeminiJets as a limited edition, highly collectible model, this British Airways DHC-6-300 – Registration G-BVVK – has been meticulously recreated from de Havilland’s blueprints and features realistic landing gear and detailed graphics, assuring the utmost accuracy and superior quality. Recognized and truly appreciated for its robust construction and STOL characteristics, the DHC-6 Twin Otter is a very popular commercial aircraft that first went into service in or about mid-1966 as the 100 series with the Ontario Department of Lands in Canada. Introduced in 1969, the 300 series DHC-6, which has an approximate range of 900 nautical miles at a maximum cruising speed of roughly 330 km/h, offered more powerful engines than the preceding 100 and 200 series DHC-6 models along with a lengthened nose, which consequently allowed for an additional 1,000 pounds of takeoff weight. Production of the DHC-6-300 ended in 1988.
